About Kerala Technological University (KTU)

KTU (Kerala Technological University) is a State Govt. University which came into existence on 21st May 2014. It has been founded to improve the academic standards of the graduate, PG and research programmes in engineering science, technology and management and regulate the academic standards of all colleges affiliated to the University. The main thrust areas of the University are Research, Development and Innovation. In accordance with Chapter VIII of the Ordinance to founded Kerala Technological University (KTU), Govt. of Kerala vide GO(Ms) No. 93/2015/HEdn dated 11.03.2015 have made affiliation of all institutions which imparts education in Engineering and Technology in the State of Kerala with KTU as mandatory from the academic year 2015-16 onwards. As such all Engineering Colleges in the state have to disaffiliate themselves from different Universities from the Academic year 2015-16. KTU has its headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram and its jurisdiction extends to the whole of Kerala State. The University has been founded both as a teaching and affiliation university. Engineering colleges can choose to be affiliated as a regular college, a constituent college, an autonomous college, or as a college with academic autonomy.
